David Parenti, M.F.T., L.M.F.T.

David Parenti is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University and has been with Family Guidance Center since 2003. David was an off-site supervisor and completed his post-graduate work in supervision with Hahnemann University. He is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and, with 35 years training as a Marriage and Family Therapist, has been very effective in meeting the needs of the families he’s counseled. David has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families. He has consulted at the Head Start preschool program, has provided mental health and drug and alcohol assessments for a student assistance program at a local high school. His professional experience also includes being a Behavioral Specialist for a wrap around program and has provided therapeutic consultation for elementary school children with problem behaviors at a local school working systemically with their parents and teachers. In his work, David utilizes Structural, Strategic, Solution-Focused Therapy with his many clients, particularly children, teens, and young adults. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Strategic Therapy are often his methodology when working with individual clients. David also conducts sessions with couples in marital therapy, often through Solution-Focused Therapy, Family of Origin Therapy, and Strategic Therapy.
