EVENT DETAILS

This is the event you don’t want to miss! Family Guidance Center invites all to come learn about the mind-body connection and take part in our wellness activities that are designed to engage the mind and get your body moving. Featuring a 5k timed run, family-friendly walk, and so much more! Not a runner? Join the walk! Unable to walk? Attend the vendor fair and enjoy a free relaxing chair massage. Better yet, reduce your stress and flex your body while attending a free fitness demo. That’s not all! The fabulous Wacky Patti (previously Pipper the Clown) is returning to delight everyone with her amazing balloon creations! We will once again be holding the exciting Kid’s Decorated Wheels Parade featuring a “Show Your COLORS!” theme and there will be Carnival Games with fun prizes, as well. Finally, as always, we’re expecting some incredible raffle baskets you won’t want to miss! Raffle tickets will be available for purchase (cash or card accepted!) throughout the event and raffled off at the close of the event. We can’t wait to see everyone there!

5k Run / Family-Friendly Walk Information:

All proceeds benefit Family Guidance Center and those we serve.

Online registration CLOSES Tuesday, May 16th at midnight. HOWEVER, we can still take in-person registrations for both runners and walkers on the day of the event! Please plan to register no later than 8:30 AM to be sure your registration is complete prior to the start of the race. The registration table can be found under the porch of Stone House.

Pre-Registration: Register ON / BEFORE April 28, 2023:

    • Runners: $30 entry fee. T-shirt and swag bag included with paid registration, while supplies last.
    • Walkers: $5 entry fee. T-shirts will be available to purchase at the event, while supplies last ($20/shirt).
    • Children Walkers (12 and under): Free, please fill out registration form with a signed waiver.

Registration AFTER April 28, 2023:

    • Runners: $35 entry fee. T-shirt and swag bag included with paid registration, while supplies last.
    • Walkers: $10 entry fee. T-shirts will be available to purchase at the event, while supplies last ($20/shirt).
    • Children Walkers (12 and under): Free, please fill out registration form with a signed waiver.

Surface types include paved road, gravel, and uneven dirt or grass trail that may not be suitable for all stroller types. If you will running or walking with a stroller, we encourage you to check out the course in advance. There are some hills throughout the course. Stone House is a public, dog-friendly park that will remain open to the public during the event.

Awards:

Awards to Top Male & Top Female AND Top 3 Males & Top 3 Females by age group: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Kid’s Decorated Wheels Parade and Contest:

Calling all tricycles, bicycles, unicycles, scooters, wagons, strollers, wheelchairs, so on – if it is NON-MOTORIZED, permitted in the park and has wheels, we’d love to see it! We will have decorating materials at the event this year, so feel free to either decorate your ride at home OR complete the decorating at the event, then show off all your hard work during the parade at 10:30am!

This year’s theme is…Show Your COLORS! 

Dress up and decorate those wheels with COLOR! Choose your favorite color or a rainbow of colors, the choice is yours. Be as wild and creative as you’d like!

    • Judging will be based on age groups: birth-4, 5-8, 9-12
    • Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group
    • All participants will receive a goodie bag
    • FREE to participate!

5k Run / Walk Registration Form

PLEASE NOTE: Completed registration form required for ALL runners and walkers (including children under 12)!

No registration required to attend the Community Event.

WAIVER/RELEASE: I hereby waive all claims against the race director, race officials and volunteers, any and all sponsors including, but not limited to Family Guidance Center, those in their employ, and all their representatives and successors from any injury or liability I might suffer during this event. I attest that I am physically fit and prepared for this event. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls; contact with other participants; the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity; and the condition of the road, sidewalks, paths; all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I grant full permission for organizers to use my name and/or pictures in legitimate accounts and promotions of this event.
